Sr optical lattice clock optical circuit board, 461nm + 689nm MOT beam combiner
This optical circuit board prepares laser beams for a strontium magneto-optical trap (MOT) by combining laser light at 461 and 689 nm. The 461-nm light creates a broad-line capture MOT, which is followed in time by a 689-nm narrow-line MOT. This circuit board receives 461-nm (blue) and 689-nm (red) light through the fibre couplers on the right. These beams are split into three beams using half-wave plates and polarizing beam cubes. Three times, one red and one blue beam is combined using a dichroic mirror and sent into an output fibre (on the left). This is one of six optical circuit boards needed to construct a strontium optical lattice clock.
